Curtis McWilliams is interim CEO of Kalera. “We are thrilled about Kalera’s early performance at ‘Mile High,’ a vertical farm that provides Colorado with clean, nutritious, and locally-grown greens.” “We are excited to expand our footprint beyond the inner mountains west and to see the positive effects the farm will have on the regional agricultural and economic environments.”

Kalera farms grow clean, non-GMO and nutrient-dense greens in climate-controlled areas. They also use sustainable farming methods like water recycling and plant formula optimization.

McWilliams stated that Colorado residents share key values, with Kalera, sustainability, and nutrition being at their forefront. This makes our Denver farm an ideal complement to the region. “We’re eager to see our microgreen and lettuce varieties on shelves, and we look forward to building relationships with local businesses.”

Colorado residents will be able to access locally grown microgreens and greens year-round from the farm, which is located in an area with a short growing season. The Kalera growing season is approximately 4 weeks for lettuce, with 13 growing seasons per year.

McWilliams stated that Kalera is a local brand, which makes it accessible to a wide range of consumers. Kalera provides clean, local produce that doesn’t deplete precious resources. This is what urban communities around the world need.

Kalera currently has farms in Orlando and Houston, Houston, Denver and Munich. Five farms are under construction in Seattle, Columbus, Ohio, Honolulu, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Singapore.
