Weep…Young Stoner Life is not going to get a break. The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office in Georgia has indicted Young Thug and Gunna along with 26 others. The story was first reported by Michael Seiden, the WSB-TV reporter. It also included a mugshot featuring Jeffrey Williams a.k.a. Young Thug. Williams is being charged with Conspiracy To Violate The Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) along with 27 others. Two days later, Sergio Kitchens a.k.a. Gunna surrendered to Fulton County police.
The indictment against YSL (also known as Young Slime Life), is printed on an 88-page document. Officials cite it as a criminal street gang that has ties to the Bloods street gang. Some of the charges date back to 13 years ago and include some serious crimes such as aggravated assault using a deadly weapon, attempted murder, armed robbery and attempted murder.
Seiden said that Williams is accused of renting a 2014 Infiniti Q50 sedan to Hertz. This was used in the murder of Donovan Thomas, Jr.
The incident in which two YSL members asked Williams permission to kill Rayshawn Lamar Bennett (a rapper better known as YFN Licci) is another highlight. Since May 2021, he has been at Fulton County Jail fighting his own RICO charges. He was allegedly stabbed in February by another inmate. Bennett asked the judge to grant him a bond, but he was granted a consent bond by the state. He was placed in protective custody without access to any other inmates.
There are many high-profile cases that will be revealed in the months ahead, due to the 13-year history of these events. There are 28 associates in prison. It is possible that a few will accept a plea bargain.
According to 11 Alive (a Georgia news station), a convicted person can face a “5-20-year sentence, a penalty, or both” for RICO charges. Additional charges could add to the punishment.
Williams, Kitchens and the other members of YSL are not certain, but it is clear that things will get serious. This case is sure to be a case to watch in the future, given its high profile.
