What Makes Machine Gun Kelly a Poser?

You are reading the title and wondering, “Why is he being talked about?” His album came out in March.” Although Machine Gun Kelly’s sixth studio album “Mainstream Sellout” was released some time ago, it is never a bad time to hate on a pretentious, predatory, always-in-the-news-weirdo.

You can find some relevant information about MGK and Colson Baker in these new movies. Machine Gun Kelly is currently everyone’s favorite punching bag. However, with everything he does, we are compelled to document our distaste for the rapper-turned-pop-punk artist. We need to get on with our lives.

Baker’s pivot towards our favorite punk music is his primary problem. Baker made four subpar rap albums and then switched music genres to make music that was rock. Baker flirted with this idea many times, as you can hear from “Candy”, and “I Think I’m Okay” on his 2019 album “Hotel Diablo.” The latter was a collaboration between Travis Barker and Baker. Baker was influenced musically by Blink-182, Barker’s band. Their friendship and partnership resulted in them creating their rock albums that lean much towards the pop-punk genre.

Their collaborations have worked out well as Baker’s pop-punk albums both reached number 1 on Billboard 200 charts. Even though Baker is considered one of the greatest acts in the world and a huge influence on many others, he seems to really enjoy his music. His lyrics lack depth, and his style and aesthetic are extremely…Hot Topic. This leads to a lot of disdain among people like us.

Baker’s disdain for all things rock is another reason that punk veterans often alienate him. In addition to that, he provided a humorous rendition of A System of a Down’s song “Aerials” for the Howard Stern Show. Additionally, he has been involved in a fight with Corey Taylor, the vocalist for Slipknot. Baker did not feature on Baker’s next album titled “Tickets to My Downfall” and instead went on a Spotify Podcast to criticize older rockers who wore comfy shoes onstage. Baker’s record is scheduled to be released in 2020. Taylor took exception to these comments, saying that he “[hates] artists who fail to excel in one genre” and decided to rock. Taylor said this.

After a great deal of back-and-forth exchanged over the course of a number of years, Taylor finally spoke on the ongoing conflict. After just two years of releasing rock music, Taylor declared that he had no business instructing other rock artists what to do since he had only been doing it for two years. Regardless of how you feel about Slipknot, you can’t argue with the fact that he makes a good argument.
In addition to that, he is well-known within the metal music community as a musician. If you’re aware of the situation, Baker’s public remarks regarding Eminem’s daughter were the spark that ignited the animosity that erupted between Eminem and Baker online. Because of this, Baker shifted his musical focus to rock. You may remember that in April 2022, Baker made the announcement that he will be the one to record the next rap album.

Baker’s work has given him a great deal of trouble throughout the years.
Baker is not and never has been a competent rapper, and despite his best efforts, he was unable to earn the admiration of lovers of popular music. Baker also made offensive remarks about rock and rap icons, and when things became tough for him, he went away. Fans of hip-hop and punk will need to find out what self-inflicted difficulty he produces next since he is now performing his most recent album on tour.
