Carrey is a historical icon and a global symbol that can never be duplicated. He is proud of the art he created and will continue to stand behind it. If that is true, then we don’t think many people will have the right complaint.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 might be Carrey’s last movie. While the movie itself is similar to the first, it has a greater emphasis on more. Ben Schwartz is back as the blue blur. The sequel features Idris Eba as Red Echidna Knuckles, Colleen O’Shaughnessy playing Tails, and Colleen O’Shaughnessy reprising her role.

Carrey is the standout of the cast. Jim Carrey again plays Mr. Robotnik and is free to do Jim Carrey’s things. It succeeds as it always has. It’s extremely entertaining and Carrey clearly shows that he is having fun with his role.

So what does this leave for the Sonic franchise? Sonic 2 was released in April to a positive reception. They beat out the Wizarding World movie, “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore,” by Sega Corporation. Paramount Pictures also announced a third Sonic the Hedgehog Movie before the movie’s sequel. The studio also announced a spin-off series starring Elba’s Knuckles.

Toby Ascher & Neal H. Moritz have stated that Carrey can decide if he wants to return as Dr. Robotnik. They stated that they won’t try to replace Carrey, if not they will.
