Being the daughter of a celebrity power couple will net you some jobs here and there, but developing your own story is a difficult task. Being the offspring of legendary musician Lenny Kravtiz and television/movie star Lisa Bonet is plenty of pressure. When trying to find your own path, it seems like you have these high expectations. She is subverting all of those expectations as the Catwoman to Robert Pattinson’s Batman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

Kravitz was doing pretty well for herself in the Hollywood scene. Nepotism helps, but she was really starting to hit her stride when she was the lead in Hulu’s High Fidelity. It was a much-loved cult hit but was sadly canceled after one season. She appeared in movies like Mad Max: Fury Road and Fantastic Beasts, but only really had minor roles.

Kravitz absolutely nails her role as Selina Kyle, a jewel thief that has a mutual dangerous attraction The Batman. A role previously played by Anne Hathaway, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Eartha Kitt, she makes the character her own.

Her role as the next Catwoman has earned her such acclaim that she was even the latest host to Saturday Night Live, which is a definite sign you’re heading in the right direction as an actress. She nailed her opening monologue and continues to be everyone’s heartthrob. Even photos of her were circulating online as Princess Bella from The Princess of the Frog.

It got a lot of people’s attention as there hasn’t been a live-action of that certain Disney film as of yet.

It is yet to be said of what comes next in her career but Kravitz definitely has a lot of potential and has an enormous amount of star power. Her on-screen presence has definitely made some leaps and bounds as well. You can tell that she is getting more comfortable in the roles she plays and can really steal the show from her co-stars at times. Even with standout characters like Paul Dano’s Riddler and the barely recognizable Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Kravitz’s Catwoman may be everyone’s favorite anti-hero in Batman’s rogue’s gallery.

There’s a reason why everyone scrambling to get a piece of the superhero pie. It launches you into the stratosphere in terms of publicity and introduces you as an actor to so many new people. What better film to make a huge statement like The Batman, who is arguably the biggest superhero alive. Kravtiz’s stardom can only go up from here as she shows no signs of slowing down. Who’s to say that in the future, we won’t start calling Lenny Kravitz “Zoe’s Dad”? Maybe it’s only a matter of time.
